STATE MANDATORY SURVEY REMINDER

From Mr. Callan's email on Friday, 6/7:

"As you are aware, the State Ed Department recently conducted multiple audits throughout the District.  As a result of one of those audits, we are being required to survey our students.  It is extremely important that we comply with this requirement in order to ensure the HS remains in good standing.

Due to the restrictions of access to technology, please be aware that students may complete the survey on their phones.  It is mandatory for the following classes: Physical Education, Global 10, and AP courses."

This is the link you were told to take a picture of on Friday to complete this assignment (again, this is being required by New York State, not me):

Reminder: Classes June 5-13

Tomorrow begins silent, academic study hall for you during your Global class period.  Per school policy, you are required to be in class, on time or your 4th MP grade will be affected.

You will not be permitted to use any electronic devices.

You are required to bring Regents Review HW with you for your Math or Science classes.  If your teacher emails me that you have mandatory portfolio projects due in English, I will allow you to work on those but, again, not on electronics.

You cannot be given a pass to the library, gym study hall, lunch, or another class.

This will begin tomorrow & end with your last class on 6/13, as previously discussed.

See you tomorrow.

FINAL REMINDERS

This. Is. It.

Get a good night's sleep tonight - tired people fail exams!
Eat breakfast before you get here - hungry people fail exams!

As a reminder, you MUST have:
  • Multiple IDENTICAL standard blue or black pens - ball point ink, NOT GEL PENS!
  • Your current school ID to enter the building

As a reminder, you CANNOT have:
  • Electronics of ANY kind
  • Earbuds of ANY kind
  • Review books, notes, etc.
  • Anything other than a small pocketbook.  Backpacks, book bags, and anything else bigger than the size of a sheet of paper folded in half will not be permitted & must be checked with security when you enter the building
  • Food.  Eat before you come to the exam.  It's a Regents, not Starbucks or the mall food court.  You MAY have an unopened, clear bottle of water, but you may NOT have your own water bottle.

Other things to remember:
  • ALL BAGS WILL BE SEARCHED.
  • Base your clothing choices on the weather & school dress code.  You are there for 3 hours in one spot  do you really want the back of your thighs sticking to the seat for that long?
  • It is supposed to rain in the morning - be at your bus stop early so you don't miss the bus
  • Regular bus stop at your regular pick up time tomorrow
  • Know your room number (see the post from last week)
  • If you are late for the exam, you lose that time
  • The exam is 3 hours long.  You will be there for the full 3 hours.  No one will be released early, and if you choose to walk out your exam will be invalidated.
  •  You either prepped yourself all year or you are gong to have a difficult struggle tomorrow.  There is no time to cry, zone out, or nap.  Either be confident in the work & review you have done or learn from the error of your ways for next year, which ever may apply to you.

Quizlet Tips & Reminders

Be sure to study using Quizlet.

I added a bunch of "Regents Prep" sets weeks ago, I hope you have been using them.  If not, clear your weekend, and START STUDYING!

Pay attention to the Unit 10.1, as it is the "oldest" info you have for this course & was not taught in 9th grade.  As it is new for 10th grade, we feel it will show up on the Exam (as I've told you throughout the year.)

If you haven't been studying, YOU ARE OUT OF TIME!

This is it.

Move on to 11th grade US History next year or get "left back" in 10th grade Global II.

As a reminder, you MUST have:
Multiple IDENTICAL standard blue or black pens - ball point ink, NOT GEL PENS!
Your current school ID to enter the building.

As an added incentive for those of you STILL FAILING THE COURSE, anyone who gets 26 correct on the Part I OR a 90 or better on the Exam will get a passing grade for the course (providing you were not a chronic cutter or earned below a 30 average in each marking period, because that shows you were not not interested in passing to being with.)
