TEST TODAY: Friday, 10/5

Your Chapter 22 Exam will be on Friday, 10/5.  The Quizlet Review has been open since September 10th.  If you have been in class, paid attention, done your homework, and study you should do very well on the test.  STUDY THE REVIEW IN QUIZLET - it was made using the material on your exam.

Make up for legal absences is before school (per my make-up policy), last day to make up is Wednesday, 10/10.  Failure to make-up the exam will result in a zero for that test.  Cuts & illegal absences cannot be made up, and anyone late to class will not receive extra time on the exam.  Make-up period ends at 7:15 AM.  TO have the same amount of time for the test as was offered in lass, you must arrive to 1823 by 6:45 AM.  You can arrive after that time, but your time ends at 7:15 AM.

If you can't come before school to make up the exam don't be absent for it!

The test will NOT be a full period so please bring your regular required supplies with you to class that day.

PSAT & Extra Credit

If you have not done so but email me a screen shot of your PSAT registration by MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, 9/30, I will still accept it for the extra credit.  There should be no one waiting to be approved by now if you registered by the deadline of 9/28.

Guidance will allow you to register util 10/5...get signed up if you haven't already!

No Make-Ups 9/26, here are new dates

All make-ups are canceled for tomorrow, Wednesday, 9/26.  They are moved to Thursday & Friday, same place & time.

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

Read me before 9/20!

Signed Expectation Letters & Contact Sheets were due on 9/12.  All signed sheets as of that date have been entered into Thinkwave.  These were easy test grades...so if you have a zero, be sure to turn it in tomorrow for a grade change to 65.

Same goes for signing up for Quizlet, AND signing in & changing your password in Thinkwave (codes given out on 9/7.)

You have until 2 pm Thursday, 9/20 to correct your errors or the zero(s) stand.
That's 4 test grades of zero, to be clear.
One for each assignment.
Which makes it difficult to pass the marking period.

Want to know your current average?  Check Thinkwave!

(Please note, not all Thinkwave or Quizlet has been entered.  If it is blank, it has not been entered so has not yet affected your average (positively or negatively) & will be by Friday afternoon.  If there is a 0, it is entered.)

DUE: Wed., 9/26

Rare Extra Credit Opportunity

Since I almost never give you extra credit assignments, you should read this post...

Have you taken the PSAT yet?  If not, you really need to!  Studies have shown that your best score is the 3rd score...and a PSAT will give you the best chance at improving where needed so you can get into the college you want and maybe even grab yourself a scholarship.

Next one is Saturday 10/13.
Juniors (not Sophomores, sorry!!) with free or reduced lunch get the $25 test fee waived...so if you have that, the test is FREE!
Deadline to register is right around 9/28.

So, here's my deal:
IF you register for the PSAT I will excuse 2 missed or failing HWQs (if you missed none, I will double 2 HWQ 100s to make it fair)

AND

WHEN you show me your score to prove you showed up to take it I will excuse 2 more failing HWQs (or double 2 more HWQs 100s to make it fair.)  If there is other official proof you showed up for the exam I will also accept that.

Deadline to show me proof of signing up is 9/28.
See your Counselor or Ms. Fox in Guidance on your FREE PERIOD & be sure to tell them I sent you to register.

Welcome to the High School!

Welcome to your Sophomore Year!

You have just 3 years to go until graduation - I hope you are committed to making this year your best yet in all of your classes!  Trust me, those 3 years are going to fly by so you need to do your best right from the start to be on track for college or vocational scholarships!

As a reminder about the supplies you need for class every day:
- 1-subject binder/loose leaf with plenty of paper.
- Standard blue or black pens (at least 2 in case 1 runs out.)  Work is only accepted in standard blue or black pen.
- A working highlighter (any color!)

You need to have at least paper, pen, & highlighter starting tomorrow, 9/8, and all supplies in class as of 9/17.

Let's make it a successful year!!
